Aidan Seymour-Butler

Aidan practices criminal law with Anthony Moustacalis and Associate and has appeared before courts of multiple levels, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Prior to being called to the Bar, Aidan completed his articles with a well known criminal lawyer, spent several months volunteering Pro Bono Ontario, and acquired knowledge of International Commercial and Investment Arbitration while working as a researcher at a Public International Law boutique.
Aidan is originally from Botswana and received his LL.B from the University of Sussex, England, and his LL.M from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. During Aidan’s LL.M he received a “First-Class Honours” for his dissertation on Corporate Personhood and Criminal Liability for Aiding and Abetting International Crimes. In 2019 his article on Immigration Detention Centres in the UK won the Denning Law Journal Postgraduate Writing Competition and was subsequently published. Aidan is also an elected member of the executive board for the CBA Criminal Justice Section and the OBA Criminal Justice Section.
In his spare time he enjoys playing rugby for his local club.
